Dear Mrs.Davis, I sit here, writing this email in utter shock and sadness at the news that I have just received. However, instead of focusing on the bad, during this time of giving and caring, I want to thank you. For everything. Thank you for screaming at Enzo Toledo and Darian Lynch when they were being obnoxious. Thank you for putting up with me and my classmates shenanigans. Thank you for being a light in everyone’s day on any day. And lastly, Thank you for being one of the most powerful, inspiring, and courageous women I know. Coming into Riviera freshman year and not knowing anybody, I was blessed to have your class. You reminded me of the highschool english teacher that everyone would talk about. Energetic, vivacious, lively, risk-taking, strong, and, in the most endearing of ways, crazy. Allow me to elaborate: Your craziness comes from the fact that you would rather miss out on hours of sleep than not grade essays. You would bust your head open trying to find countless ways to help us understand every aspect of your class or a certain book. If it were not for you, I would not have found my favorite book and movie! The Great Gatsby. A timeless classic that will always remind me of your spunkiness. With everything going on in the world, now more than ever, we need people like you. People who are understanding, fun, hardworking, and downright amazing human beings. I pray that I live with the same adventurous and loving nature as you. Thank you so very much for everything Mrs. Davis. There is no other person in the world like you. Each and every single person who loves you will continue to live remembering what an admirable woman you are. Love always, Iza Santiago
