Message to Mrs. Davis
Hello Mrs. Davis! Thank you for being such a cheerful teacher and bringing all the positives to school. I was a quiet and super shy student back then so I didn’t get to talk to you that much throughout my 2 yrs of studying at riviera. However, whenever I saw you in the hallway and saw the way you interacted with my high school friends, I felt more comfortable and welcomed into this school. I hope you know how much impact you have brought to your students, even to those who didn’t get a chance to be in your class and just knowing you by coming to school. We are grateful to have you as a teacher in Riviera and will be forever grateful for the guidance we received from you.
Thank you for everything!
Mrs. Davis, I feel so privileged to have had you as an English teacher. When I took your class from 2015-2016 at Riviera, you truly made learning and coming to school something to look forward to every day. To this day, I always recommend the same books I read in your class to others, and they remain some of my all time favorites (thank you especially for Middlesex). You were one of the most caring, passionate, and valuable teachers I have had the pleasure of having. Your class solidified my love for writing and literature, as well as helping make me both the student and writer I am today as a junior in college. I have never effortlessly laughed and learned so much in one class. I just wanted to thank you so much for being such a touching influence in my life. Much love, Sophia Roth, Riviera student 2012-2016, School for Advanced Studies Class of 2018.
A Message for Mrs. Davis
Hey Mrs. Davis, this is Josh Stotzky. I gathered around ten of my friends and fellow students from Riviera to meet up on Zoom and reminisce about our experiences in your class. You truly made a huge different in all of our lives and helped all of us become the people we are today. I sent an email to Jonathan so that you could see the video. Let me know if there are any technical difficulties with my email.
You are the definition of Teacher !
I am very saddened by this news. Mrs. Davis I just want to say THANK YOU, thank you for your dedication, thank you for being who you are as you are, and thank you for all the special moments we’ve been able to share. Your humor, your passion, your tenacity, and overall just your beautiful spirit will never be forgotten. Today as a master’s student I still carry your teachings with me and will never forget Links and the impact you’ve had on my writing! I am not exaggerating when I say that you’ve been the BEST teacher I have ever had, you are the true definition of TEACHER and I will never forget you. To have been in your presence in this life has truly been an honor. With love, Caroline Jacques. Riviera Class of 2015. English Class 2011
an extraordinary teacher
Like many others who have had the opportunity to be taught by Ms. Davis, I almost instantly noticed how she lit up the classroom with her vibrant personality. Every day my friends and I would walk into her classroom, we would smile because we knew how fun she would make class. After having Ms. Davis for two consecutive years, it became very apparent how much she truly loved writing. She would spend so much time helping out students to reach their full potential on papers and truly help them create wonderful stories. I am so thankful to have had her for my first two years at Riviera and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I am blessed every day to have been taught by such a lively soul and a caring person that so selflessly helped me on my journey to becoming a better writer. I am so grateful for getting to know Ms. Davis as a person and a teacher. I wish words could fully express how i feel right now, but they can only do so much. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you Ms. Davis for everything you have done for me and Riviera as a whole. Love, Matthew Parra
Love you Mrs. Davis!
Dear Mrs.Davis, I sit here, writing this email in utter shock and sadness at the news that I have just received. However, instead of focusing on the bad, during this time of giving and caring, I want to thank you. For everything. Thank you for screaming at Enzo Toledo and Darian Lynch when they were being obnoxious. Thank you for putting up with me and my classmates shenanigans. Thank you for being a light in everyone’s day on any day. And lastly, Thank you for being one of the most powerful, inspiring, and courageous women I know. Coming into Riviera freshman year and not knowing anybody, I was blessed to have your class. You reminded me of the highschool english teacher that everyone would talk about. Energetic, vivacious, lively, risk-taking, strong, and, in the most endearing of ways, crazy. Allow me to elaborate: Your craziness comes from the fact that you would rather miss out on hours of sleep than not grade essays. You would bust your head open trying to find countless ways to help us understand every aspect of your class or a certain book. If it were not for you, I would not have found my favorite book and movie! The Great Gatsby. A timeless classic that will always remind me of your spunkiness. With everything going on in the world, now more than ever, we need people like you. People who are understanding, fun, hardworking, and downright amazing human beings. I pray that I live with the same adventurous and loving nature as you. Thank you so very much for everything Mrs. Davis. There is no other person in the world like you. Each and every single person who loves you will continue to live remembering what an admirable woman you are. Love always, Iza Santiago
Thank you
Mrs. Davis was my high school English teacher, and one of the first people who nurtured my love for reading and writing. She inspired me to become a high school English teacher myself, and I’m so grateful to have spent my formative years in her classroom. Thank you for guiding me, teaching me and believing in me. I love you, Mrs. Davis. Valeria Manavello
Always in my heart
Mrs. Davis, This is all too surreal to be writing. You are truly a one-of-a-kind educator! Your class was something I looked forward to every day of my senior year. You put your heart and soul into everything you did for us and it truly showed. You not only gave us guidance in the classroom but also shared life advice that really came from your heart. I pray that your legacy lives on through the hundreds of students you’ve touched along your incredible journey of life. Thank you for EVERYTHING! Your dancing, singing, and adorable voice will be in my heart forever! I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Love always, Jennifer Machado Killian Class of 2010
